In August 2021, Sinochem officially started its plastics additives business with the acquisition of Jiangsu FOPIA Chemicals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as FOPIA).

FOPIA was established in 2010 at Binhai Coastal Industrial Park (Yancheng, Jiangsu Province) as an enterprise for the R&D, manufacture and sales of chemical additives. The company has three businesses segments as new materials, fine chemicals and commissioned processing. FOPIA mainly manufactures polymer additives, primarily ultraviolet absorbent, light stabilizers, polymerization inhibitors, and antioxidants.
