Sinochem International has established the R&D division dedicated to the research and big-data analysis for EV batteries, energy storage systems, battery cells, applied materials technology, frontier chemical systems and process technology.
Sinochem Internation acquired Huai'an Junsheng New Energy Science and Technology Co., Ltd in 2018 to quickly enter the power lithium battery sector. At present, production lines at Huai'an facilities are running at full speed, and orders for soft pack batteries have been sent out for delivery. Total Quality Management (TQM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) have been implemented to achieve IATF 16949 Certification, the automotive industry's gold standard for parts production.
On September 15, 2020, Sinochem International signed a framework agreement with BMW to establish a long-term, all-round strategic partnership for the manufacture and supply of lithium-ion batteries. To this end, our China East production base for new energy in Yangzhou has achieved Global Tier 1 automotive supplier status in battery modules and packs. Once at full capacity, Sinochem International will become the supplier of battery modules and packs for BMW's electric vehicles, as mentioned in the framework agreement. The project will fulfill the joint mission to research and develop advanced battery technology, and produce high-power, high-performance batteries for the cars of the future
