In June 2023, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) unveiled the inaugural IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. Recognizing the significance of understanding these standards and harnessing the opportunities presented by ESG information disclosure, Sinochem International organized an ESG-themed training and exchange event on December 15, aimed to equip participants with the necessary insights on how to build new competitiveness in the ESG boom.
The event featured experts from ESG consultancy GoldenBee and influencers on international intellectual property, who shared perspectives to assist companies in comprehending the ISSB standards and navigating ESG rating processes.
The collaborative discussions focused on strategizing how companies can effectively respond to the new standards and enhance their ESG information disclosure practice in a bid to continually improve corporate ESG ratings.
Ke Xiting, Secretary of the Board of Directors, Sinochem International, highlighted the imperative to grasp the significance of ESG practice and the quality of information disclosure. He stressed the need for a deep dive into ISSB standards, with efforts to elevate ESG practice and information disclosure, so as to bolster governance structure and operating mechanisms for quality growth and contribute to the establishment of China’s own ESG standards.
