Sinochem International has recently initiated the trial operation of a Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) unit with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons as part of its C3 Phase One Project. The company anticipates the commencement of product output in early November. This is a milestone marking the complete integration of its epoxy resin industry chain facilities in Lianyungang.
Epoxy resin, a key growth area for Sinochem International, sees the company leading the Chinese market with a combined production capacity of 350,000 tons per year across its facilities in Yangzhou and Lianyungang.
The Lianyungang site is known for its comprehensive industry chain, including an integrated facility for the entire production process that covers PDH, propylene, phenol acetone, bisphenol A/epichlorohydrin, and epoxy resin. Since 2022, Sinochem International has successfully completed and operationalized major units within this chain, such as phenol acetone, bisphenol A, epichlorohydrin, and epoxy resin production facilities. The activation of the PDH unit is a critical step in achieving full operational integration of the epoxy resin industry chain.
This project is a pivotal element of Sinochem International’s ambitious “Propylene-Epoxy Resin” industry chain, aimed at establishing global competitiveness and comprehensive coverage in the market.
Beginning with the PDH process, the chain integrates essential upstream materials, including an annual production of 480,000 tons of bisphenol A and 150,000 tons of environmentally-friendly epichlorohydrin, enhancing self-reliance in producing key intermediates and establishing an integrated industry chain. Combined with existing production capacity and technological advantages, this strategic integration consolidates the company’s industry-leading position.
